Duty Manager - Temporary in Betchworth, Surrey

TEMPORARY Duty Manager required for our client, a hotel, to join a busy operations team located in the outer Betchworth area of Surrey. LIVE IN is available for this temporary role which is for a period of a few weeks / months.

As Temporary Duty Manager, candidates require a background at a supervisory level managing team members, and undertaking Duty Management within a Hotel.

What is on offer for the role of Temporary Duty Manager:

• Salary iro £30,000 / per annum / 40 hour week.
• 40 hours per week – 5 days out of 7 to include week-ends on a rota.
• The shift pattern will be on a rota – the early shift being 7 am to 3pm and the late starting 3pm to 11pm.  
• Live in is available with this temporary role if required.

Purpose of the role of Temporary Duty Manager:

To take responsibility for the hotel operation, to ensure the hotel delivers a high quality service to the guests, maximising on all sales opportunities. By providing leadership and direction, you will ensure delivery of great customer service at best possible cost and satisfying legal requirements.

As Duty Manager, the post also holds responsibility for Risk Management, covering Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, DDA and Fire Safety, ensuring that the hotel is fully compliant with all legislative responsibilities.

• Confident, pleasant and an excellent articulate communicator; able to stay calm under pressure and remain courteous when dealing with difficult situations.

• Have a good personal standard always projecting a professional image.

Key responsibilities for the Duty Manager:

People

• Complete a service briefing at the beginning of each shift and a handover at the end of each shift
• Actively support and lead teams, ensuring that the Customer experience is truly engaging throughout each and every interaction throughout their stay.
• Create a supportive, fun and creative working environment developing talent and demanding a quality and standard driven approach throughout each and every member of the team.
• Ensure that your team are wearing the appropriate clothing for their role and maintain a high standard of personal grooming.
• With the Operations Manager, ensure all legislative training is adhered to and carried out effectively and efficiently.
• Chair the daily operational briefing (morning meeting), to communicate all business information required for the team to plan and deliver a seamless service. 
• Log all operational challenges within the Duty Management Log, ensuring that all challenges are managed by the appropriate Head of Department.
• Manage Duty Manager Requests and confirm future protocol and accountability.
• Continuing to promote ‘eye for detail’ at all levels.

Guest

• To promote a helpful and professional image to the customer, giving full co-operation to any customer requiring attention.

• To attend to customer queries and enquiries in a caring and helpful manner and with a commitment to dealing with the issue in a positive way.
• To anticipate customer needs whenever possible to enhance the quality of service offered by the hotel, to ensure customer loyalty is maintained.
• To ensure the customer is treated correctly, first time, every time.
• Ensure all customers receive a warm welcome first time every time.
• Take an active role within the operational team, helping to shape the overall offer/service to its customers.
• Work with the General Manager in any occasion of Customer dissatisfaction to enable a position of recovery and “wow” to overcome any negativity.
• Host the lobby and interact with the guest to ensure that you support the busy check-in / check-out, ensuring that our guest has a great first and last impression.
• Support the Conference Services Team and welcome all trainers and course organisers, ensuring that we understand and have prepared for their requirements.
• Support the restaurant to ensure that all guests and groups are greeted and to enhance their dining experience.

Further responsibilities, include a pro-active approach to ensure, identify and enhance, profit and sales.

The salary for Temporary DUTY MANAGER, is given as iro £30,000 / per annum pro rata for the temp role / 40 hour week.

Transport would be required due to location if you live in the local area due to the shift work. However, LIVE IN is available for this temporary role
