We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join a highly skilled engineering team based at a high-hazard Upper Tier COMAH manufacturing facility in Eccles.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced E&I Technician with a strong background in electrical maintenance, instrumentation, fault finding and hazardous area environments to join a stable and well-established organisation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and improving electrical, control and instrumentation systems across the site, ensuring safe, reliable and compliant operation of plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown maintenance on electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and instrumentation faults across complex industrial plant equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot motors, drives, control systems, instrumentation and electrical installations.
  • Work safely within a permit-to-work system, including accepting permits where authorised.
  • Complete maintenance activities using the site's engineering management systems.
  • Use ERP systems for ordering materials, services and engineering parts.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and engineering modifications.
  • Assist with wider engineering activities across the site.
  • Provide support to the E&I Coordinator when required.     

The successful candidate will have:

  • Time-served Electrical / Instrumentation maintenance experience.
  • Experience working within a chemical, petrochemical, COMAH, process or heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience working with industrial instrumentation and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Good understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements within an industrial environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a small engineering team.

Essential Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or related discipline.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
  • Experience working within hazardous area environments.

Desirable:

  • CompEx Ex01–Ex06 qualification.
  • Previous experience within a COMAH regulated facility.
  • Experience with chemical manufacturing or process plant.
