Teaching Personnel is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school from September. This full-time role offers the opportunity to support children during their important transition from nursery or preschool into Reception, helping them develop the confidence, independence, and skills they need to thrive.

The Role

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support Reception-aged children as they settle into school life.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative learning activities.
  • Help children develop their social, emotional, communication, and early literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support where required.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to ensure every child has the best possible start to their school journey.
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children in an Early Years setting (school, nursery, or preschool).
  • Is patient, caring, and passionate about supporting young learners.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Can use their initiative while following the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Holds a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable but not essential).
  • Has an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one through Teaching Personnel.
