Ecologist (Tree Climbing)

My client is a part of a group that offers a range of services, including ecological consultancy. They were established over 40 years ago and have provided services to their clients nationally ever since. They work on a range of large-scale infrastructure projects as well as conservation and others.
Your new role
We are looking for an Ecologist to support tree climbing works on a major UK infrastructure project. This is an excellent opportunity that is available full time from September-December with the potential of an extension through till April 2027.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting protected species and habitat surveys
• Tree Climbing
• Assessments and reporting
• Providing ecological advice to site teams and contractors
• Liaising with project stakeholders and environmental specialists

What you'll need to succeed

• Highways Passport and CSCS
• Safety Critical and Medical
• Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue
• Your own PPE
• Previous experience working as an Ecologist within consultancy, construction, or infrastructure environments
• Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and ecological survey methodologies
• Experience undertaking protected species surveys and habitat assessments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to the site
