Electrical Design Engineer

We’re looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join an international power generation specialist in Stockport.

This is a role suited to someone with experience designing LV and/or HV electrical systems, as you will be producing electrical designs, drawings and technical documentation for power generation and distribution projects.

What will you be doing as an Electrical Design Engineer?

• Designing LV and HV electrical networks
• Designing power generation and distribution systems
• Supporting DC system designs for BESS projects
• Producing electrical drawings and technical documentation
• Developing LV and HV protection schemes
• Carrying out cable sizing calculations
• Preparing specifications for switchboards, transformers and related electrical equipment
• Producing designs using AutoCAD
• Using Trimble / Amtech for electrical design and calculations
• Liaising with clients, DNOs and suppliers
• Supporting multi-discipline engineering projects
• Attending site visits to support design development and project progress

What will you need?

• City & Guilds Level HND in Electrical Engineering
• Previous experience inan engineering or construction environment
• Strong experience designing LV and/or HV electrical systems
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Demonstrable experience using Trimble / Amtech
• Experience with cable sizing and electrical protection schemes
• Full current UK driving licence
