Salary: £30,000 - £36,000 per annum (salary may be negotiable for candidates with significant relevant experience)

About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Calibration Engineer to join a well-established technical services business based in Bredbury. This position offers the chance to work within a specialist engineering environment, carrying out the calibration, testing, maintenance, and fault diagnosis of a wide range of electrical measuring equipment.
This role would suit someone with previous experience in calibration, electronics, instrumentation, test engineering, or electrical engineering who is looking for a long-term opportunity with the potential to secure a permanent position.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform calibration of a variety of electrical test and measuring instruments to defined standards and procedures.
- Carry out troubleshooting, fault-finding, and minor repairs where required.
- Accurately document test results and maintain calibration records.
- Complete workloads within agreed timescales while maintaining high levels of quality and accuracy.
- Assist with calibration activities across other technical disciplines when business needs require.
- Ensure company testing and measurement equipment remains fit for purpose and compliant with internal procedures.
- Work closely with supervisors and colleagues to prioritise tasks and meet customer requirements.
- Attend customer sites to undertake calibration and testing activities when required.
- Adhere to company quality systems, procedures, and industry standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Participate in technical training, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the wider engineering team with additional duties as required.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience within an electrical calibration, electronics, instrumentation, testing, or engineering environment.
- Knowledge of electrical measuring and testing equipment, including:
- Digital multimeters
- Electrical installation testers
- Portable appliance and safety testing equipment
- Frequency and timing measurement devices
- General calibration and test equipment
- Experience using multifunction calibration equipment would be advantageous.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and follow established procedures.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence would be beneficial for occasional customer site visits.
