Role Purpose

The Electrical Foreman will be responsible for the supervision, coordination and management of electrical installation works on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, to the required quality standards and in accordance with programme requirements.

The Electrical Foreman will work under the direction and supervision of the M&E Project Manager, supporting the overall delivery of the mechanical and electrical works on the project.

This is a non-working supervisory position. The Electrical Foreman will not be expected to routinely undertake installation work but will lead and supervise electricians and electrical subcontractors, coordinate site activities and ensure that electrical works are completed correctly, safely and efficiently.

Reporting & Responsibilities

The Electrical Foreman will report directly to the M&E Project Manager and will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the electrical workforce on site.

The role will include:

  • Implementing the electrical programme and priorities set by the M&E Project Manager.
  • Providing regular progress updates to the M&E Project Manager.
  • Escalating technical, programme, labour, material and coordination issues to the M&E Project Manager.
  • Working closely with the M&E Project Manager to coordinate electrical works with mechanical services and other trades.
  • Ensuring instructions issued by the M&E Project Manager are communicated effectively to the electrical workforce.
  • Assisting the M&E Project Manager with planning, sequencing and coordination of electrical works.
  • Supporting the M&E Project Manager in achieving programme, quality and health & safety requirements.
  • Attending site coordination meetings when required.
  • Ensuring that electrical operatives and subcontractors work in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, RAMS and project requirements.

Essential:

  • Relevant ECS/CSCS or other appropriate site qualifications.
  • Qualified electrician with relevant electrical qualifications (NVQ Level 3) .
  • Previous experience working on commercial, industrial construction projects.
  • Previous experience in an electrical supervisory or foreman role preferably on a PBSA scheme.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical installation practices and regulations Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Good understanding of RAMS, permits and construction health & safety requirements.
  • Experience supervising electrical operatives and subcontractors.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
