Electrical Supervisor
Location: Huddersfield
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Call-out: 1 in 6 rota (only when covering engineer leave)
Role Overview
An experienced Electrical Supervisor is required to oversee electrical maintenance operations on a large industrial manufacturing site in Huddersfield. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading electrical maintenance activity, ensuring compliance, and supporting both planned and reactive works across the site.
This is a hands-on supervisory position combining technical leadership with coordination of engineers and contractors, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of all electrical services.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate electrical maintenance activities across the site
- Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks
- Ensure all electrical works are carried out in line with current regulations and site procedures
- Carry out and/or supervise inspection, testing, and certification of electrical systems
- Support fault finding and technical troubleshooting across plant and equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation, compliance records, and maintenance reports
- Ensure strict adherence to health & safety standards at all times
- Liaise with site management, clients, and subcontractors to ensure smooth operations
- Support and mentor site engineers where required
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in commercial or industrial electrical maintenance
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Previous experience supervising or leading engineers/contractors
Desirable Requirements
- LV switching experience
- HV experience or authorisation (advantageous)
- Experience within manufacturing, heavy industry, or critical environments
- Previous supervisory or lead engineer experience
Working Pattern & Benefits
- Monday to Friday, standard day shifts (8:00am - 5:00pm)
