Installation Manager

Location: West Sussex (50% Office | 1 Day per Week on Site | 1 Day per Week Working from Home)
Salary: £46,000 – £55,000 + Company Vehicle

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced engineer who has progressed into project or installation management and is looking to take the next step in their career.

We're seeking a practical, hands-on Installation Manager to oversee the delivery of industrial and commercial installation projects across the UK. You may currently be working as a Project Engineer, Installation Supervisor, or Site Manager / Supervisor.

This position offers the chance to help shape and grow an installation department from the ground up. With strong support from an experienced service team and leadership group, you'll have the autonomy to build processes, develop the team, and establish yourself quickly within the business.

Installation Manager job details:

Working closely with the sales team once projects have been secured, you'll take ownership of the installation process from planning through to completion.

Typically managing around 50 projects per year, you'll coordinate both employed engineers and specialist contractors to ensure installations are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Projects are predominantly within industrial and commercial environments, often based in plant rooms and involving mechanical installations connected to water and electrical supplies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take over projects from the point of sale and manage them through to completion.
  • Plan and coordinate installation activities across multiple sites.
  • Liaise directly with customers and act as the main point of contact throughout delivery.
  • Conduct site surveys and attend installations when required (typically one day per week).
  • Produce installation documentation, including RAMS and project schedules.
  • Order materials and coordinate deliveries.
  • Manage and support both in-house engineers and external contractors.
  • Support the ongoing development and growth of the installation function.

About You

We're open-minded on background, but you'll ideally have worked your way up from an engineering role and understand what it takes to deliver projects successfully.

You'll Need

  • Experience managing installation projects within industrial or commercial environments.
  • A strong mechanical background, ideally involving plumbing, pipework, fixtures and fittings.
  • An understanding of electrical installations and the ability to coordinate electrical contractors.
  • Experience managing engineers, subcontractors, labour, and site activities.
  • The confidence to walk an installation from survey through to handover.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to support engineers when required.
