Electrician (Renewables)

We are looking for a fully qualified and skilled Electrician to join our growing renewable energy team. In this role, you will lead the electrical installation, wiring, commissioning, and testing of Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) systems across domestic properties.

Never worked on heat pumps before? No problem. While prior heat pump experience is a huge plus, we care most about your core electrical expertise. If you have your 18th Edition, 2391, and AM2, we will provide all the specialist manufacturer and hands-on training you need to excel in the green energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation & Wiring: Complete first and second-fix electrical installations for air source heat pumps, including control wiring, cylinders, central heating controls, and mains upgrades.

• Inspection & Testing: Carry out initial verification, inspection, and testing on all new installations, completing Electrical Installation Certificates (EICs).

• Compliance: Ensure all electrical work complies with BS 7671 (18th Edition) regulations and health and safety standards.

• Fault Finding: Diagnose and rectify electrical faults during commissioning or maintenance visits.

• Customer Service: Maintain a professional, clean, and helpful presence on-site, explaining basic system controls to customers upon completion.

Position Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications & Credentials

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent JIB Gold Card standard).

• AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2) certificate.

• City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition) Wiring Regulations.

• City & Guilds 2391 (or 2394/2395) Inspection and Testing.

• Full, clean UK Driving License.

Experience

• Required: Proven background in domestic electrical installation, consumer unit upgrades, and circuit testing.

• Desirable (But Not Essential): Prior experience wiring air source heat pumps, S-Plan/Y-Plan heating systems, or smart heating controls (Nest, Hive, etc.).
