Our client is a leading automotive and defence manufacturer who is looking to recruit an experienced Electronics Production Engineer to join their engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in electronics manufacturing and mechanical design to play a key role in supporting production, driving continuous improvement and introducing new products into a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Some travel to the West Midlands will be required.
The Role
Working closely with Production, Design and Quality teams, you'll be responsible for optimising manufacturing processes, resolving production issues and ensuring products are delivered to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting day-to-day electronics production activities and resolving manufacturing issues.
- Designing and modifying components and production tooling using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Creating and maintaining engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing documentation.
- Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) from prototype through to full production.
- Driving continuous improvement projects to improve quality, efficiency and productivity.
- Investigating root cause of manufacturing issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Working collaboratively with Production, Quality, Purchasing and Design teams.
- Ensuring engineering changes are effectively managed and documented.
- Supporting process validation and manufacturing best practice.
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
- HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electronic or Production Engineering.
- Previous experience as an Electronics Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer or Electro-Mechanical Engineer.
- Mechanical design experience using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
- A good understanding of electronics manufacturing processes and production engineering.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA and Lean Manufacturing.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across multiple departments.
