Employment Lawyer

A well-established law firm in the Birmingham area is seeking an ambitious Employment Solicitor to join its busy team, in a role which offers fantastic scope for career advancement.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to manage a varied caseload of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters with the opportunity to play a key role in the development of the department and, ultimately, progress into a leadership position.

You will advise both employers and employees across a broad range of employment law matters, including:

• Employment contracts, policies and staff handbooks
• Settlement agreements
• Employment Tribunal claims
• Disciplinary, grievance and capability procedures
• Redundancy and restructuring matters

You will manage your own caseload with a high degree of autonomy while contributing to the continued growth and success of the Employment team.

Due to the structure of the department there is flexibility around the level of PQE for this role, although it is likely that you will have accrued at least 2 yrs PQE or equivalent as the firm requires someone who can ‘hit the ground running’. Experience in a variety of employment matters such as those listed above is essential, whilst a track record of conducting your own advocacy at tribunal would be viewed favourably.
