We're recruiting for an ambitious Energy Analyst to join a well-established and growing energy consultancy.
This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across energy trading, market analysis, procurement strategy and portfolio management. You'll work within a highly experienced team, supporting the delivery of energy purchasing strategies and providing valuable market intelligence to a diverse customer base.

The Role
As an Energy Analyst, you'll play a key part in supporting trading activities and delivering high-quality analysis that helps inform commercial decisions.
You will be responsible for gathering, analysing and interpreting market and portfolio data, ensuring accuracy across trading activity and helping identify opportunities within rapidly changing energy markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Support energy trading activities across power and gas markets
- Analyse large datasets to identify trends and provide actionable insights
- Validate trades, pricing and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Prepare market reports, forecasts and customer-facing updates
- Maintain procurement schedules and support portfolio management activities
- Develop and enhance reporting tools and dashboards
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Monitor market developments, industry trends and regulatory changes
- Contribute to the development of new products and service offerings
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will be analytical, commercially minded and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Essential
- Experience within an analytical, trading, procurement or data-focused role
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience using Power BI or similar reporting and visualisation tools
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Desirable
- Experience within energy, utilities, commodities or financial markets
- Knowledge of wholesale energy markets
- Experience producing complex reports and data analysis
- Passion for market analysis and commercial decision-making
