Due to continued growth and expansion, they are looking to add an experienced Engine Build & Testing Technician to their team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation where you can develop your skills, work on technically advanced products and play a key role in the assembly, testing and development of precision-engineered engines.
As an Engine Build & Testing Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, calibrating and servicing engines to engineering specifications while maintaining the highest standards of quality, accuracy and safety. The successful Engine Build & Testing Technician will work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure products are delivered to specification and customer requirements.
Key responsibilities of the Engine Build & Testing Technician include:
- Completing component inspections and reporting any dimensional, quality or specification concerns.
- Building engine sub-assemblies and final assemblies from engineering drawings and specifications.
- Carrying out engine testing and calibration procedures in line with customer and product requirements.
- Diagnosing faults, servicing and overhauling engines, providing recommendations for repair or refurbishment.
- Preparing engines for shipment, including cleaning, packing and documentation.
- Supporting research and development and prototype activities when required.
- Using hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment safely and effectively.
- Recording performance data and escalating any technical issues identified during testing.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, organisation and workplace cleanliness.
- Following all quality, health, safety and environmental procedures.
- A minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English, Maths and a Science subject.
- Strong practical and mechanical aptitude.
- Experience working within an engineering, manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to work accurately to specifications and procedures.
- The ability to use hand tools, measuring equipment and workshop machinery safely.
- A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A positive and flexible attitude within a manufacturing environment.
