A day in the life of a Murphy Engineering Surveyor:

  • Processing and managing survey datasets from multiple survey disciplines. 
  • Producing CAD drawings, models and survey deliverables. 
  • Quality checking and validating survey data prior to issue. 
  • Supporting point cloud registration and processing workflows. 
  • Assisting with machine control model preparation, verification and site setup.
  • Supporting UAV data processing and operational survey activities where appropriately trained, competent and authorised to do so.
  • Working with site teams to understand survey requirements and resolve technical issues. 
  • Contributing to the development, training and improvement of digital survey workflows. 
  • Supporting site survey activities when required.

Essential

  • Experience within Engineering Surveying, Geomatics or Topographical Surveying. 
  • Good understanding of survey control, GNSS and total station methodologies. 
  • Experience processing survey data and producing deliverables. 
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and StarNet
  • Experience with software such as N4CE, Leica Infinity, Cyclone Register360, Trimble Business Centre, Propellor, DJI Terra or similar. 
  • Knowledge of laser scanning and point cloud workflows. 
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance principles. 
  • Highly proficient in written and spoken English. 
  • Flexible and willing to travel to project sites and stay away from home when required to support project delivery and operational requirements across the UK.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

 

Desirable

  • Utility surveying or PAS128 experience. 
  • Monitoring survey experience. 
  • Bathymetric survey experience. 
  • UAV survey experience and/or CAA GVC qualification. 
  • Machine control modelling experience. 
  • GIS, Digital Engineering or BIM knowledge. 
  • Experience working on major infrastructure projects.
