£1500 Bonus + Guaranteed Annual Pay increases
A well-established food production business is looking for an experienced Engineering Team Leader to join their site, leading a team of Maintenance Engineers and playing a key role in keeping production running safely, reliably and efficiently.
This is a great opportunity for a hands-on engineering leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-standards environment and wants to make a genuine impact on team performance, reliability and continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll lead and support a team of Maintenance Engineers, ensuring service levels are maintained across the whole site.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing daily priorities for the Maintenance Engineering team
* Working closely with Operations Shift Managers and Team Leaders to reduce response times and deliver effective repairs
* Leading root cause analysis and problem-solving to eliminate recurring equipment and process failures
* Prioritising and delivering planned maintenance to best-in-class standards
* Owning and improving the CMMS, engineering stores and spare parts management processes
* Monitoring engineering KPIs and implementing corrective actions to improve performance
* Coordinating engineering resources and workload planning across reactive and planned maintenance
* Leading shutdown activities and providing out-of-hours support as required
* Managing contractors on site
* Coaching, developing and supporting the growth of your engineering team
* Maintaining a strong focus on health & safety, food safety and quality standards throughout
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience within an FMCG or chilled food production environment
* A recognised mechanical and/or electrical qualification (NVQ3 or equivalent)
* 17th Edition qualification desirable
* Food production engineering experience
* Strong communication skills and a natural team player
* Confident decision-maker and logical thinker
* Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Flexible, versatile, and a keen problem-solver with strong attention to detail
