English Teacher Temp to Perm (East London)

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced and fully qualified English Teacher to join a secondary school in East London. This is a fulltime temp to perm opportunity starting September 2026.

The school offers a supportive environment, strong departmental structure, and excellent professional development opportunities. You will be joining a committed English team delivering high teaching across KS3, KS4 and KS5.

Role Summary
We are looking for an English Teacher who:

• Holds QTS and has solid, proven teaching experience
• Can confidently deliver English at KS3, KS4 and KS5
• Has strong subject knowledge and a track record of raising attainment
• Brings enthusiasm, professionalism and a positive classroom presence
• Works well within a collaborative department

Contract Details
Position: English Teacher

• Type: Temp to Perm
• Start Date: September 2026
• Hours: 8:00am 3:30pm/4:00pm + parents evenings
• Pay: Inner London Pay Scale
• Commitment: Full time only

Essential Requirement

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

• English‑related degree

• PGCE / SCITT / Teach First (or equivalent)

• Experienced teachers only - not open to ECTs

• DBS - or willingness to obtain one

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references
