The Role

Rotherwood Recruitment are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a secondary school in Blackburn.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to delivering engaging and high-quality lessons, inspiring students and helping them achieve their full academic potential.

The successful candidate will have strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature, alongside the ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum.

• Teaching English Language and Literature across relevant key stages.

• Supporting students to develop their reading, writing, speaking and comprehension skills.

• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.

• Maintaining effective classroom management and promoting positive behaviour.

• Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.

• Working collaboratively with colleagues to support student development and achievement.

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.

• Previous experience teaching within a secondary school setting.

• Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

• A positive, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
