Your new role
As Estates Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management, maintenance, compliance, and development of a diverse property portfolio. You will ensure that buildings, infrastructure, and associated services are safe, compliant, fit for purpose, and support the organisation's operational objectives.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day operation of the estate, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
  • Overseeing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance programmes.
  • Managing contractors, suppliers, and facilities service providers, ensuring performance against agreed KPIs and SLAs.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, including Health & Safety, Fire Safety, and Building Compliance.
  • Managing capital works, refurbishment projects, office relocations, and estate improvement initiatives.
  • Developing and managing budgets, monitoring expenditure, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Producing reports, asset management plans, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, landlords, and external partners.
  • Supporting sustainability and environmental initiatives across the estate.
  • Leading on estate-related projects and continuous improvement activities.


What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in Estates Management, Facilities Management, Property Management, or a similar environment.
  • Experience managing multi-site estates and property portfolios.
  • Knowledge of building services, maintenance management, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and risk management.
  • Experience managing contractors, service providers, and project delivery.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong financial and budget management experience.
  • A recognised qualification in Facilities Management, Estates Management, Building Services, Property Management, or a related discipline would be advantageous.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body such as IWFM, RICS, CIOB, or equivalent would be beneficial.
  • A proactive, organised, and solutions-focused approach to managing complex estate environments.
