Estates Officer 1 YEAR FTC

Your new company
A public sector commercial estate in Leeds is looking for an experienced Estates Officer to support with Estates Management, Risk and safety compliance on an initial 12-month fixed-term basis.

Your new role
To support managers in the effective management of health, risk reduction & safety, ensuring that the estate complies with all current Health & Safety legislation.
To foster and develop excellent working relationships across the estate, with the aim of promoting understanding of the importance of health, risk reduction and safety and its implementation in a creative environment.
To ensure safe working practices are followed in all areas, ensuring that where issues arise, safe alternative solutions can be identified wherever possible.
Under the direction of the Director of Estates and Resources, they manage and undertake a schedule of risk and safety audits across the estate and produce reports with the outcomes, setting objectives to ensure conformance with legislation and safety processes and liaising with managers of areas. To monitor any actions from audits undertaken, whether internal or external, in connection with risk and safety and ensure all are met within the timescales set, escalating where necessary.
To keep up-to-date with health, risk and safety legislation and guidance, ensuring documents, policies and processes are updated or written, as required, presenting them to the relevant stakeholders as appropriate.

What you'll need to succeed

• Professionally qualified - NEBOSH dip or equivalent; minimum Certified member of the Institute of Safety and Health (IOSH)
• Hold relevant experience in a similar positions previously.
• Available to commit to a 1-year fixed term contract
