The role
Leathemarket JMB is looking for an Estates Services Caretaker to join our team and help keep housing estates clean, safe, and welcoming.
This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, and taking pride in maintaining communal areas for residents.
Key Responsibilities
As an Estates Services Caretaker, you will be responsible for:
- Cleaning communal areas including paths, roads, lifts, stairways, balconies, bin areas, and shared spaces.
- Carrying out sweeping, mopping, litter removal, and waste removal tasks.
- Completing seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, gritting, and snow clearance.
- Safely removing bulky waste and assisting with collection points where required.
- Using cleaning equipment, machinery, chemicals, and PPE safely.
- Reporting health and safety hazards, vandalism, and any concerns across the estates.
- Monitoring areas such as lifts and play spaces, reporting any issues promptly.

The person
The ideal Estates Services Caretaker will be dependable, and comfortable working independently.
You will have:
- Experience in cleaning public areas or estates.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safe chemical handling.
- The ability to organise your workload and manage daily tasks.
- Good teamwork skills and a positive approach.
- The ability to safely lift and carry bulky items up to 25kg.
- A commitment to health and safety and treating residents and colleagues with respect.
