Construction Estimator

We are delighted to be recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Estimator to join one of our clients on a full-time, permanent basis.

Based in the East Midlands, this is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and growing construction business, with a salary of up to £75,000, dependent on experience.

The Role

As a Construction Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive estimates and tenders, working closely with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, tender pricing and bid submissions
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation
• Obtain, assess and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Carry out quantity take-offs and detailed cost analysis
• Identify and highlight commercial and project risks
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
• Support the handover of successful projects to the delivery team
• Ensure estimates are accurate, commercially competitive and submitted within required deadlines

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience working as an Estimator within the commercial or industrial construction sector
• A strong understanding of construction methods, materials and processes
• The ability to confidently interpret technical drawings, specifications and project documentation
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant estimating software
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
