Location: ME5, Kent

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established commercial building contractor based in ME5 for an experienced Estimator to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with a strong background in commercial construction who is confident pricing projects from initial enquiry through to tender submission.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
  • Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Conducting site visits where required.
  • Identifying value engineering opportunities.
  • Working closely with the pre-construction and delivery teams to ensure competitive and profitable bids.
  • Managing multiple tenders simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Estimator within the commercial building sector.
  • Proven track record of estimating projects up to £25 million in value.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and current market rates.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.

Desirable

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Experience across sectors such as commercial, education, healthcare, industrial or mixed-use developments.
