London | £50,000 - £65,000
A well-established name in M&E engineering. A role with genuine commercial responsibility.
An established London-based building services contractor is looking to strengthen its commercial team with an experienced Estimator.
With a long-standing reputation across the mechanical and electrical sector, the business has developed into a multi-disciplinary engineering contractor delivering design, installation, fit-out, refurbishment and ongoing building services. Its approach is built around technical quality, practical engineering and long-term client relationships.
This position will suit an Estimator who wants to work within a business where accuracy, technical understanding and commercial judgement are genuinely valued.
YOUR FOCUS
Rather than simply producing figures, you'll be involved in understanding how a package can be delivered effectively and competitively.
The role will include:
* Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
* Preparing detailed M&E estimates and cost plans
* Undertaking quantity take-offs and pricing exercises
* Obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations
* Liaising with the design and delivery teams
* Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
* Supporting value engineering and alternative proposals
* Preparing tender returns and ensuring submissions are accurate and commercially robust
* Assisting with the handover of secured work to the delivery team
THE RIGHT BACKGROUND
We're looking for an Estimator with experience within M&E, building services or a related construction environment.
You should be comfortable interpreting technical information, understanding the cost implications of different solutions and working to demanding tender deadlines.
Experience across mechanical services, HVAC or wider MEP packages would be particularly relevant.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is commercially minded, technically confident and able to build strong working relationships with clients, suppliers and colleagues.
WHY CONSIDER IT?
This is an opportunity to join a contractor that has been established in the London market for more than two decades and has built its reputation around engineering quality, reliability and long-term partnerships. The business continues to develop its capabilities across M&E, building services, refurbishment, facilities management and energy-related solutions.
