Estimator Required – Refurbishment Contractor

We are recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established London-based refurbishment contractor specialising in high-quality restoration and refurbishment projects across the capital.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a growing commercial team, pricing prestigious projects ranging from £500,000 to £10 million, including Grade II listed buildings, heritage properties, luxury residential, commercial, and bespoke refurbishment schemes.

The Role

Reporting to the Pre-Construction Director, you will be responsible for preparing competitive and accurate tenders from first principles, working closely with the commercial and operational teams to secure new business.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for refurbishment and restoration projects.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Producing accurate take-offs and bills of quantities.
• Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identifying value engineering opportunities without compromising quality.
• Attending site visits, tender meetings, and client interviews where required.
• Working collaboratively with the pre-construction, commercial, and delivery teams.
• Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of current market rates and construction costs.

About You

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the refurbishment or fit-out sector.
• Experience pricing projects between £500k and £10m.
• Previous involvement in Grade II listed, heritage, or high-end refurbishment projects is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
• Able to manage multiple tenders and work to tight deadlines.
