An exciting opportunity has arisen in Coventry for an experienced Estimator to join a growing building and construction business where you will play a key role in preparing competitive tenders, producing accurate cost estimates, and supporting the successful delivery of residential and commercial projects.

Description
The Estimator will:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates from drawings, specifications and scope documentation.
- Complete detailed quantity take-offs for materials, labour and equipment.
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Produce tender submissions, budgets and cost plans.
- Support pre-construction planning, risk analysis and value engineering activities.
- Collaborate with internal design, production and project management teams to validate project costs.
- Monitor and review project costs against original estimates.
- Prepare bid proposals and tender documentation.
- Maintain and update costing databases in line with market rates.
- Monitor tender portals and identify new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the supply chain.
- Support bid writing activities to maximise tender success rates.
Profile
A successful Estimator should have:
- At least five years' experience in an Estimator role within the UK building and construction sector.
- Experience preparing tenders and managing bid documentation.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and cost drivers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software such as CostX, Bluebeam, Buildertrend or similar.
- Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience within modular or off-site construction would be advantageous.
- A degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related discipline would be beneficial.
