Estimator – Architectural Metalwork

We are recruiting for an Estimator to join an established architectural metalwork contractor based in Leeds.

The company works on a range of construction projects, supplying and installing architectural and structural metalwork packages including balustrades, balconies, staircases, handrails, railings, gates and bespoke fabricated steelwork.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator with experience within architectural metalwork, structural steel, fabrication or a similar specialist construction environment.

The Role

As Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for new projects, working closely with the commercial, design and contracts teams.

Responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Producing detailed take-offs and material quantities
• Preparing estimates for labour, materials, fabrication and installation
• Obtaining quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
• Analysing project costs and preparing competitive tenders
• Identifying potential risks and opportunities within tenders
• Liaising with clients, suppliers and the internal project team
• Following up tenders and assisting with negotiations
• Supporting projects through the handover from estimating to contracts

The Candidate

Ideally you will have previous estimating experience within architectural metalwork, structural steel, steel fabrication or specialist construction.

You should be confident reading construction and fabrication drawings and have a good understanding of how metalwork packages are manufactured and installed.

Salary & Package

£30,000 – £50,000 per annum depending on experience
