Experienced Primary Supply Teacher - Central Manchester

£150 - £180 per day (depending on experience) | PAYE only

Flexible daily supply | Same-day bookings | Central Manchester and surrounding areas

Premier Education is looking for an experienced and adaptable Primary Teacher for regular daily supply work in and around central Manchester.

This opportunity is aimed at an established teacher who has completed their induction, held permanent teaching positions and gained experience across at least two primary key stages. It would particularly suit someone who has stepped away from a permanent post but still wants rewarding classroom work, professional variety and the flexibility to choose when they teach.

If you are confident accepting same-day bookings and walking into a new school ready to lead the class, we would love to hear from you.

Why this opportunity?

Daily supply gives you the freedom to continue doing what you do best - teaching. You will have greater control over your working week.

You can expect:

  • Daily pay of £150 - £180, depending on experience

  • Regular opportunities across central Manchester and nearby areas

  • Same-day and advance bookings

  • Flexibility around the days you wish to work

  • Experience across a range of welcoming primary schools

  • Roles matched to your preferred key stages wherever possible

  • A dedicated consultant who understands your experience

  • PAYE pay with no umbrella-company deductions

  • Opportunities to build lasting relationships with local schools

  • The potential to progress into repeat bookings or longer-term roles

Central locations offer convenient access by tram, train and bus, making these opportunities particularly suitable for teachers who prefer public transport or want to avoid a lengthy commute.

The role

As an experienced Primary Supply Teacher, you will provide reliable classroom cover across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, depending on your experience and preferences.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Delivering lessons and activities left by the class teacher

  • Creating a purposeful and positive learning environment

  • Adapting teaching to meet pupils' different needs

  • Managing behaviour confidently and consistently

  • Following the school's routines, policies and safeguarding procedures

  • Assessing pupils' understanding throughout the day

  • Providing a clear handover for the returning teacher

  • Working effectively with teaching assistants and support staff

  • Using your wider curriculum knowledge to maintain learning across subjects

  • Settling quickly into unfamiliar schools, classrooms and year groups

Your previous experience in permanent teaching and subject leadership will allow you to bring confidence, sound judgement and a strong understanding of whole-school expectations to every booking.

Requirements

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status

  • Has successfully completed their statutory induction

  • Has taught across at least two primary key stages

  • Has substantial experience in permanent teaching positions

  • Has recent and relevant classroom experience

  • Has held subject leadership or curriculum responsibility

  • Has strong knowledge of the primary curriculum

  • Can manage behaviour effectively in unfamiliar classrooms

  • Is confident adapting to different school systems and expectations

  • Can provide an up-to-date CV covering their full employment history

  • Is available for regular daily supply work

  • Can accept same-day bookings when available

  • Can travel reliably to schools in and around central Manchester

This role is best suited to an experienced classroom practitioner. Applications based solely on short-term supply experience may not meet the requirements of our partner schools.
