Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant - East London

£100-£117 per day | Full-time | Immediate Start

Remedy Education are currently looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in East London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and experienced education professional who has a strong understanding of SEN and is looking for a role where they can make a real difference.

The school is looking for someone who can provide consistent, high-quality support to pupils with additional needs and help them overcome barriers to learning. You will work closely with teachers, the SENCO and wider support staff to ensure pupils receive the right level of academic, emotional and behavioural support.

Previous SEMH experience would be desirable, particularly for candidates who have supported pupils with challenging behaviour, emotional regulation difficulties, social needs or barriers to accessing mainstream education.

The Role:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday

  • £100-£117 per day

  • Immediate start

  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEN and additional needs

  • Providing targeted 1:1 and small-group support

  • Supporting pupils with their academic progress and development

  • Helping pupils manage behaviour and emotional regulation

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils

  • Supporting children to develop confidence, independence and social skills

  • Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs and other professionals

  • Adapting support to meet individual pupil needs

  • Contributing to a positive, inclusive and structured classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar education-based role

  • Excellent understanding of SEN and additional learning needs

  • Experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis

  • SEMH experience is highly desirable

  • Confident supporting behaviour and emotional regulation

  • Patient, resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Able to work effectively alongside teachers and SEN professionals

  • Passionate about helping pupils reach their full potential
