Audit & Accounts Senior (External Audit Focus)

West End | £45,000 - £50,000 | Full-Time | Office-Based | Working hours: 9:30am - 5:30pm

A long-established and highly respected accountancy practice in West End is seeking an experienced Audit & Accounts Senior to join its growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a traditional, relationship-focused firm that has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality audit, accounting and advisory services to a loyal client base. The role offers significant client exposure and the opportunity to work closely with partners across a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs and corporate clients.

The Role

This position is approximately 80% audit and 20% accounts, making it ideal for someone who enjoys managing external audit assignments while maintaining involvement in accounts preparation and client advisory work.

Key Responsibilities

Audit

• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop effective audit strategies.
• Review audit work, prepare reports and present findings to clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Liaise directly with partners and clients throughout the audit process.

Accounts & Tax

• Prepare statutory accounts under UK GAAP and FRS 102.
• Prepare and review working papers and financial statements.
• Assist with corporation tax computations and returns.
• Respond to client accounting and compliance queries.
• Liaise with HMRC and other regulatory bodies when required.

About You

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Strong external audit experience gained within an accountancy practice.
• Experience leading audits and managing client relationships.
• Good technical knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102.
• Confident communicator with a professional and proactive approach.
• Experience with CCH, Caseware, MyWorkpapers and/or Mercia would be advantageous but is not essential.
