EYFS Teaching Assistant
Long Term Futures Ltd
EYFS Teaching Assistant
Hampstead, Camden, NW3 (commutable from Belsize Park, Swiss Cottage, West Hampstead, Kentish Town and Finchley Road)
£115-£125 per day
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
Long Term Futures is recruiting a highly experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant to join an established primary school in Hampstead from September.
The school is specifically looking for an accomplished Early Years practitioner - someone who already has substantial experience within school-based EYFS provision and can bring confidence, initiative and strong curriculum knowledge to the classroom.
This is not an entry-level EYFS position. You'll be expected to work with a high degree of independence, lead learning activities and contribute meaningfully to children's progress alongside the class teacher.
The Role
- As an experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide high-quality classroom support across the EYFS curriculum
- Lead focused groups in phonics, early reading, writing and maths
- Support both adult-led learning and continuous provision
- Use observations to identify children's next steps and support progress
- Encourage strong communication, language and social development
- Adapt activities for children with differing developmental and learning needs
- Take initiative within the classroom rather than waiting for direction
- Help maintain an engaging, purposeful and well-organised Early Years environment
What We're Looking For
- Substantial previous experience working within EYFS
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS Framework
- Confident delivering phonics and early learning interventions
- Experience leading groups independently
- Excellent understanding of early childhood development
- A proactive, nurturing and highly organised approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively alongside teachers
Experienced EYFS TAs, senior Teaching Assistants and Early Years practitioners with strong school-based classroom experience are encouraged to apply.
