Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a leading manufacturing business in Sheffield to recruit a Facilities Operative to join their site maintenance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual with a background in facilities, building maintenance or site services who enjoys a varied role. You'll be responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety and functionality of the manufacturing site, carrying out a wide range of maintenance and groundskeeping duties to ensure the site operates efficiently.

• Carry out general building and site maintenance across the manufacturing facility.

• Complete routine grounds maintenance including hedge cutting, grass mowing, pruning, weeding and leaf clearance.

• Undertake basic plumbing repairs including unblocking sinks, drains and toilets.

• Perform minor electrical maintenance such as replacing bulbs, tubes, fuses and diffusers.

• Complete painting and decorating tasks throughout the site as required.

• Carry out first-line joinery repairs to fixtures, fittings and site furniture.

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on buildings, equipment and site infrastructure.

• Maintain drainage systems, guttering, downpipes, gullies and manholes.

• Conduct routine inspections of roads, footpaths and external areas.

• Keep the site clean, tidy and free from litter and debris.

• Move materials and equipment safely around site and assist with general labouring duties.

• Follow Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work at all times.

• Communicate effectively with colleagues and contractors to ensure maintenance activities are completed efficiently.

• Previous experience within a facilities, site maintenance or building maintenance role.

• Experience using hand tools, power tools and general maintenance equipment.

• Knowledge of plumbing, joinery and basic electrical maintenance.

• A proactive, self-motivated approach with excellent problem-solving skills.

• Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).

• IOSH qualification or similar Health & Safety training.

• NVQ or City & Guilds qualification in a relevant trade.

• FLT Licence.

• IPAF or other high-level access certification.

• PA1/PA6 herbicide or pesticide certification.

• Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
