Oscar Underhill Recruitment Solutions is recruiting for a Female Domestic Abuse Support Worker to join an established supported-housing provider delivering specialist domestic-abuse services. This is an urgent temporary assignment, initially expected to last 3 - 4 months, with the possibility of an extension.

The Role

You will provide person-centred practical and emotional support to women aged 16 and over who are experiencing, or have previously experienced, domestic abuse. You will help clients manage risk, improve their wellbeing, sustain accommodation and rebuild their lives safely and independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and review person-centred support plans, safety plans and risk assessments.

  • Complete or contribute to DASH assessments and refer appropriate high-risk cases to MARAC.

  • Respond to safeguarding concerns and make referrals in accordance with service procedures.

  • Support clients with housing, tenancy sustainment, welfare benefits, budgeting and independent-living skills.

  • Refer and signpost clients to IDVAs, refuge accommodation, health, housing and other specialist services.

  • Work with partner agencies and maintain accurate, confidential electronic case records.

About You

  • Experience supporting women affected by domestic abuse or vulnerable adults within supported housing, homelessness, safeguarding or community services.

  • Knowledge or practical experience of DASH risk assessments, MARAC processes, safety planning and safeguarding referrals.

  • Ability to manage a varied caseload, work independently and communicate sensitively with vulnerable clients.

  • Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate case-management records.

  • A satisfactory Enhanced DBS covering the Child and Adult Workforces is required. Applicants without a current certificate must be willing to apply immediately.

Relevant lived experience may be considered alongside suitable professional or voluntary support experience and safeguarding knowledge. Applicants will not be required to disclose personal details concerning their lived experience.

Working Arrangements

  • 35 hours per week, working from home.

  • Monday to Friday, alternating between 8:00am–4:00pm and 10:00am–6:00pm.

  • £13.70 per hour PAYE or £17.65 per hour Umbrella.

  • You must be able to collect the required equipment from Shrewsbury or pay for the equipment to be delivered to you, before starting and return it when the assignment ends.

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are desirable.
