Our Performance-Related Pay Scheme gives employees the opportunity to increase their hourly rate through regular performance reviews.

Performance is reviewed monthly against agreed standards and expectations.

  • Employees who consistently demonstrate high-quality workmanship, productivity, reliability and a strong work ethic may receive an hourly rate increase.

  • Pay increases are awarded in increments of £0.25 per hour, up to a maximum of £2.00 per hour above the standard rate.

  • Performance-related increases are dependent on maintaining the required standards of quality, productivity, reliability, conduct and attendance.

The scheme is designed to reward employees who consistently perform to a high standard and make a positive contribution to the team.

 
The Role

As a Fencer, you’ll be responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining a wide range of fencing systems across a variety of sites.

You’ll take pride in delivering high-quality work while ensuring every job is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Installing a variety of fencing systems, including timber, closeboard, panel, post and rail, security, chain-link and metal fencing

  • Carrying out fencing repairs and replacements

  • Reading site plans, drawings and measurements to ensure accurate installation

  • Setting out work areas and preparing sites for installation

  • Digging post holes and installing posts using the correct materials and equipment

  • Using hand tools, power tools and small plant safely and effectively

  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements and company standards

  • Working independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines

  • Keeping work areas, tools and company vehicles clean and organised

  • Communicating professionally with customers, site managers and colleagues

What We’re Looking For
  • 3–5 years’ proven experience in fencing installation

  • Experience installing a range of domestic and commercial fencing systems

  • A good understanding of health and safety practices within a construction environment

  • Ability to read drawings and follow specifications

  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship

  • Full UK driving licence

  • CSCS Card desirable

 

Additional Skills

 

The following experience or qualifications would be advantageous:
  • Experience operating mini diggers or other small plant**

  • Trailer towing licence

  • First Aid at Work qualification

  • Experience installing gates and access control systems

  • Experience with security fencing
