Field Maintenance Technician – CNC Machine Tools

Bedfordshire / Northamptonshire | £26,000–£30,000 + Guaranteed Bonus | Permanent

A leading CNC machine tool manufacturer is recruiting a Field Maintenance Technician to cover predominantly the Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire regions. The role has come available through internal promotion — a clear sign of how this business invests in and progresses its people.

Prior CNC experience isn’t needed — full training will be provided from day one. What matters is a solid mechanical background, a sharp eye for fault-finding and a genuine appetite to build a career in field service engineering.

The Role

• Servicing, maintaining and fault-finding on CNC equipment at customer sites across the region

• Diagnosing and resolving technical issues while delivering a consistently high standard of customer service

• Managing your own schedule and travelling independently to client locations

• Keeping tools, equipment and your company vehicle maintained to a professional standard

What We’re Looking For

• Solid mechanical maintenance experience — workshop, production maintenance or similar

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

• A quick learner who picks up new technical skills with confidence

• Self-sufficient, proactive and comfortable working independently in the field

• Full UK driving licence

• Comfortable with regular regional travel

• CNC machine tool experience is a bonus — the right mechanical foundation and attitude will always count for more

What’s on Offer

• £26,000–£30,000 depending on experience

• Guaranteed bonus: £6,000–£8,500

• BMW 330e company car

• Full tool kit provided

• Comprehensive training on CNC systems

• Clear progression pathway — this vacancy exists because the last person in the role was promoted

A permanent, field-based role with a business that genuinely develops its engineers. Come with the mechanical background and the drive to keep learning — the career progression will take care of itself.
