Field Service Engineer
South East (Field Based – Cambridge, Chelmsford, Colchester, East Grinstead)
We are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a growing renewable energy business, supporting assets across the South East.

The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, and performance of power plant systems, ensuring high reliability and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across flexible generation assets
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on power generation systems
- Support installation, commissioning, and post-handover defect rectification
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems across medium/high voltage ranges
- Replace and repair components including motors, ignition systems, and control equipment
- Complete detailed service reports, including photographic evidence, via internal systems
- Identify required spare parts and support asset reliability improvements
- Respond to breakdowns and participate in an on-call rota
Requirements
- Experience working as an Electrical Engineer within power generation, energy, or industrial environments
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across electrical and mechanical systems
- Knowledge of control systems and plant equipment
- Experience completing service and inspection reports
Working Pattern
- Monday to Friday (40 hours per week, between 8am–7pm)
- On-call rota: 1 week in 5 (Friday to Friday)
- Frequent travel across the South East with occasional overnight stays
