About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to maintain, service and repair a recycling and waste handling equipment at customer sites across the North West.
The role will mainly involve travelling within a radius of your home, with occasional travel further afield when required (a company van is provided). You will be responsible for installing, fault-finding, servicing and repairing compactors, balers and other specialist equipment, ensuring machines remain safe, reliable and operational.
Key Responsibilities
As a Field Service Engineer, you will:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on recycling and waste handling equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
- Replace faulty components using hand and power tools.
- Install, service and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and electronic systems.
- Test, recommission and verify equipment following repairs.
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery, including three-phase electrical connections.
- Prepare repair quotations and provide technical recommendations where required.
- Complete service reports, inspection records
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety legislation and customer site procedures.
Experience
- Experience in servicing, maintaining or repairing recycling, waste management or similar industrial equipment.
- Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
- The ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Experience using diagnostic and testing equipment.
- Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
- Basic welding skills for minor repairs.
- A good understanding of health & safety legislation and safe working practices.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
