Field Service Technician (HGV Mechanic Team)

Questech Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established business for an experienced Field Service Technician..

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy operation carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a fleet of HGVs and trailers across multiple company sites. Working from a fully equipped service vehicle, you'll support planned maintenance and breakdown response, helping to maximise fleet availability and minimise downtime.

Location

  • Newark (NG23 area)

Pay & Hours

  • £22.50 per hour

  • Monday to Friday

  • 6:00am – 4:00pm

  • Overtime available at enhanced rates

  • Permanent position

The Role

  • Carry out planned servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults

  • Attend breakdowns and provide roadside/on-site support

  • Complete preventative maintenance and vehicle inspections

  • Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure compliance with DVSA standards

  • Complete maintenance paperwork accurately

  • Work safely and efficiently while managing your own workload

The Candidate

  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)

  • Previous experience maintaining and repairing HGVs and trailers

  • Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding skills

  • Able to work independently in a field-based role

  • Good attention to detail and commitment to safety

  • Full UK Driving Licence
