Are you looking to start a rewarding career in Finance while gaining a recognised professional qualification?
As a Finance Apprentice within our Water and Infrastructure Finance team, you will provide valuable support to the Finance function while working towards a Level 3 AAT qualification (or equivalent). This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a wide range of accounting and finance activities while developing your knowledge, skills and career within a supportive environment.
Working closely with experienced finance professionals, you will play an important role in the day-to-day operation of the Finance team while building a strong foundation for a successful future in accounting and finance.
As a Finance Apprentice you will…- Assist with the production of sales invoices.
- Process purchase invoices and liaise with colleagues across the business to resolve discrepancies.
- Support cash collection activities.
- Allocate customer receipts and supplier payments accurately.
- Prepare helpful analyses of costs and revenues.
- Produce cost centre reports.
- Prepare and post accounting journals.
- Assist with monthly finance activities, including statements, reconciliations, credit card analysis and timesheet processing.
- Maintain accurate financial records and support the wider finance team with administrative tasks.
- Work towards achieving a Level 3 AAT qualification (or equivalent) alongside your role.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a keen interest in building a career in Finance.
You will have:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 9–4 (A*–C) or equivalent.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in Finance and Accounting.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong relationship-building and teamwork abilities.
- The ability to work accurately and meet strict deadlines.
- Good planning, prioritisation and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- A willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new challenges.
- A positive attitude and a passion for delivering great customer service.
