Our client is a small group of private residential care homes, where residents, families and colleagues are at the heart of everything they do. Due to an upcoming retirement, they are looking to welcome an experienced individual to their close-knit head office team based between Newent and Ledbury.

This is far more than a traditional finance role… working closely alongside the Company Directors, you'll become a valued member of a friendly team where everyone rolls up their sleeves and supports one another.

The ideal candidate is not required to hold formal accounting qualifications, but will have solid, hands-on finance experience, be confident using Sage, have excellent organisational skills and enjoy building solid working relationships. A proactive approach, strong work ethic and a good sense of humour are equally as important as job ability.

Based within a separate office building on site at one of the homes, you'll enjoy working in a modern, welcoming office surrounded by beautiful gardens, a pond and peaceful countryside, whilst working a 4-day week allowing a perfect work life balance!

Key Responsibilities will include:

-Oversee the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate financial records and reporting

-Produce payroll, invoices, supplier payments and monthly management accounts

-Monitor budgets, cash flow and outstanding payments

-Liaise with residents, families, suppliers and external stakeholders regarding financial matters

-Support month-end and year-end processes, including working with external accountants and auditors

-Provide financial support and guidance to managers across the business

-Ensure compliance with financial procedures and maintain accurate documentation

-Provide occasional administrative support to the Directors when required

Candidate Attributes:

-Previous experience in a varied finance or accounts role

-Confidence using Sage 50 Accounts

-Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail

-The ability to prioritise a busy and varied workload

-A proactive, hands-on approach and a willingness to support colleagues

-A positive attitude and good sense of humour

**Please note, due to the location of this role and limited public transport access, to apply you will need to have a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 9am – 4pm (paid hour for lunch!)

Salary & benefits: £21 per hour (equating to £30,576 per annum for 30 working hours) + onsite parking and option for a free hot meal from the kitchen each working day
