Finance Manager in Coventry, West Midlands

RM Recruit are working with a fantastic organisation based in Coventry who are looking to appoint an experienced and hands-on Finance Manager to join their established finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant looking for the next step in their career, or an existing Finance Manager looking to take greater ownership of a finance function.

The role offers excellent exposure across the wider finance function, including management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, business partnering, systems and financial operations. You will have the opportunity to broaden your experience, take on additional responsibility and develop your management skills within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Reporting to the CFO, you will take responsibility for the smooth running of the finance function and will line manage a Finance Officer. This is a hands-on role, so you will be equally comfortable working through the detail of the day-to-day finance function as you are providing financial insight to senior stakeholders.

Main duties include:

• Oversee the day-to-day finance function, ensuring transactions, reconciliations and reporting are completed accurately and on time.
• Take ownership of monthly management accounts and month-end processes.
• Prepare financial reports and provide clear financial information to senior stakeholders.
• Manage cash flow, purchase and sales ledgers and general financial operations.
• Work closely with budget holders on budgeting, forecasting and financial performance.
• Support project budgeting and financial planning.
• Provide financial input into business planning and organisational projects.
• Work with colleagues to investigate variances and resolve financial queries.
• Oversee income-related reconciliations, working closely with the CRM system.
• Produce and run reports through the organisation's CRM and finance systems.
• Maintain strong financial controls and identify opportunities to improve processes.
• Support statutory accounts, audit preparation and wider compliance requirements.

We are looking for a proactive and capable finance professional who is ready to take the next step and broaden their exposure across a finance function.

This could be an ideal opportunity for a strong Management Accountant who has solid experience in management accounts and financial reporting and is now looking for progression into a Finance Manager position. You do not necessarily need to be fully qualified. We are open to candidates who have developed strong technical finance experience and can demonstrate the ability to take ownership, work independently and develop relationships across an organisation.

As the ideal candidate you will possess strong experience producing management accounts and financial reporting including experience of budgeting, forecasting and business partnering. Experience supporting or preparing statutory/financial accounts and the ability to work with budget holders and non-finance colleagues is desirable. Charity/not-for-profit experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.
