Part Time Finance Manager in Coventry, West Midlands

RM Recruit is working with a fantastic organisation based in Coventry who are looking to appoint an experienced and hands-on Finance Manager to join their established team working Part Time, four days per week.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys being hands-on in the day-to-day running of a finance function, whilst also providing strong management information and financial insight to the wider organisation.

Reporting to the CFO, you will take responsibility for the smooth running of the finance function and will line manage a Finance Officer. This is a varied role, combining management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting with the day-to-day operational finance duties that keep the organisation running effectively.

Main duties include:

  • Oversee the day-to-day finance function, ensuring transactions, reconciliations and reporting are completed accurately and on time.
  • Take ownership of monthly management accounts and month-end processes.
  • Prepare financial reports and provide clear financial information to senior stakeholders.
  • Manage cash flow, purchase and sales ledgers and general financial operations.
  • Work closely with budget holders on budgeting, forecasting and financial performance.
  • Support project budgeting and financial planning.
  • Provide financial input into business planning and organisational projects.
  • Work with colleagues to investigate variances and resolve financial queries.
  • Oversee membership and income-related reconciliations, working closely with the CRM system.
  • Produce and run reports through the organisation's CRM and finance systems.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and ensure processes are continually improved.
  • Support statutory accounts, audit preparation and wider compliance requirements.

As the ideal canddiate,you will be a qualified or part-qualified accountant, or someone who has developed strong finance experience through relevant practical experience. Most importantly, you will have a solid understanding of management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, alongside the confidence to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function.

You will ideally possess strong experience across management and financial accounts coupled with budgeting, forecasting and business partnering. You will be a competent user in excel and possess strong communication skills and the confidence to work with non-finance colleagues. Experience within the charity/not-for-profit sector would be advantageous, but is not essential.

This role benefits from hybrid working with office presence required twice per week including flexible working hours and a supportive and friendly working environment.
