Finance & Office Manager
DMA Group
The Opportunity
An established, privately owned business specialising in data collection from many different companies and organisations is looking for a Finance & Office Manager to take ownership of its finance function.
A well respected business and successful in their field. It is a stable, well run group.
This is the number one finance role on site. You will report directly to the Directors and be trusted to run the numbers, produce the management accounts and keep the office side of the business moving. The current post holder is leaving, so there is a proper handover available for the right person.
It is a hands on role. You will be preparing the accounts yourself rather than reviewing someone else's, alongside a supporting office and administration element.
What You'll Be Doing
Management accounting
- Producing quarterly and year end management accounts, P&L and balance sheet
- Accruals, prepayments, journals and control account reconciliation
- Fixed asset schedules and depreciation
- Cashflow forecasting, cost forecasting and agreeing payment runs
- Preparing reporting packs and commentary for the Directors
- Supporting the Directors on budgeting, forecasting and commercial decisions
Year end, audit and tax
- Preparing the year end pack and liaising directly with the auditors
- Reviewing audit amendments and checking draft accounts before signing
- Checking the corporation tax computation and managing payments on time
- VAT reconciliation and MTD submissions to HMRC
- Companies House filings and confirmation statements
Transactional finance and payroll
- Oversight of sales, purchase and nominal ledgers
- Bank reconciliation and company card administration
- Credit control support and chasing overdue invoices
- End to end monthly payroll including starters, leavers, RTI, P45s, P60s and P11Ds
- Auto enrolment, pension contributions and salary sacrifice arrangements
Office and administration
- Insurance renewals, supplier contracts and general office administration
- HR administration including contracts and personnel records
- Main point of contact for HMRC
About You
- Proven experience producing management accounts end to end in a small to mid sized business
- Strong technical grounding across VAT, corporation tax, payroll and cashflow
- Comfortable liaising directly with auditors and owning the year end process
- Qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience, our client is open on route as long as the capability is there
- Advanced Excel and confident on a recognised accounting system
- Commercially minded, able to explain the numbers to people who are not accountants
- Organised and self sufficient, and happy to pick up the office side alongside the finance work
What's On Offer
- Salary of £45,500 to £50,000 depending on experience
- Full handover and training before the current post holder leaves
- Genuine ownership of the finance function and direct access to the Directors
- A stable, profitable business with a long track record and an established client base
This is a role for a Management Accountant who wants to run the whole picture rather than one slice of it. If you enjoy variety, want responsibility and like knowing your work matters, this is worth a conversation.
