Financial Accountant in Glasgow, City of Glasgow

Anderson Knight is delighted to be working with a leading organisation in Glasgow to recruit a Part-Qualified Financial Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business and become part of a supportive finance team where you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting and maintaining strong financial controls.

This is a varied position that will give you exposure to a broad range of financial accounting responsibilities. Working closely with colleagues across the finance function, you'll support the month-end process, help ensure the accuracy of financial information and contribute to ongoing improvements within the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports and reporting packs.
• Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any variances or discrepancies.
• Support the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring reporting deadlines are met.
• Assist with audit requirements and provide information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the maintenance of strong financial controls and ensure compliance with company procedures.
• Assist with cash flow reporting and other financial analysis when required.
• Help identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance the quality of financial reporting.

The Ideal Candidate Would Possess

• Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a financial accounting, reporting or month-end focused role.
• Strong understanding of journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience working within a busy finance environment and meeting reporting deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Confident using Excel and finance systems.
• Good communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across the business.
• Proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
