Financial Accountant

Hays Accounts and Finance

Remote-friendly

Your new company
If you're a practice‑trained accountant ready to step into a dynamic commercial role, this opportunity will feel like the perfect next move. We're looking for a motivated, detail‑driven Financial Accountant-qualified or part‑qualified (ACA or ACCA)-who wants to continue developing professionally while contributing to a high‑performing finance team.

Your new role
You'll be joining a supportive, forward‑thinking environment where your technical grounding from a chartered accountancy firm will help you make an immediate impact.

This role blends daily finance operations, month‑end responsibilities, and ownership of credit control decisions, giving you broad exposure and genuine progression.

You will be responsible for owning the day‑to‑day finance function-maintaining accurate records, supporting the general ledger and completing daily bank reconciliations; taking ownership of credit control and risk management, including invoicing, cash allocation, debt recovery and customer credit decisions; leading month‑end reporting, management accounts, accruals, prepayments, balance‑sheet reconciliations and compliance with ONS, VAT and HMRC; and collaborating with the finance team to drive process improvements and support audits to protect cash flow and enable fast‑paced, profit‑focused expansion.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a part-qualified or qualified ACA/ACCA accountant, ideally practice‑trained and committed to completing your professional training.

The key attributes we are looking for will be strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge, being confident about using financial systems as well as advanced Excel, along with a passion for continuous improvement and making processing smarter. As a finance professional, you will be confident in collaborating across the business and demonstrating high attention to detail with strong organisational skills.

What you'll get in return
The organisation offers a salary between £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience and qualification, with study support for those part-qualified.

They also offer a hybrid working week of 3 days on-site based in South Norfolk and 2 days working from home. For details of the full benefits package, contact Andy Jarman on (phone number removed)
