Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established business in Rotherham for an experienced Financial Controller to join them on a 14-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy finance team during an exciting period of business transformation. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the finance function following the implementation of a new finance system, taking ownership of complex reconciliations, ensuring the integrity of financial data and helping to improve financial processes.
This role would suit an experienced Financial Controller or Senior Management Accountant who enjoys getting into the detail, solving problems and working with large volumes of financial data in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of bank, ledger and revenue reconciliations.
- Investigating and resolving reconciliation differences and financial discrepancies.
- Supporting month-end close through journals, adjustments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Analysing historical financial data to identify and resolve outstanding issues.
- Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial information across multiple systems.
- Supporting finance systems improvements and embedding new processes and controls.
- Assisting with audit preparation and responding to audit queries.
- Producing ad hoc financial analysis and supporting wider finance projects.
- Working closely with the wider finance team to continuously improve processes and reporting.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Management Accountant or in a similar senior finance role.
- A professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or someone who is qualified by experience with relevant expertise.
- Strong experience completing complex bank, ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Excellent Excel skills and the ability to analyse large volumes of financial data.
- Experience working with ERP or finance systems, with systems implementation or migration experience being highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- The ability to manage their own workload and build strong working relationships across the business.
