FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Malvern

£55,000 to £70,000 + 10% Bonus & Benefits

An established £20m turnover manufacturing business in Malvern is looking to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of its finance function.

Part of a larger international group, this is a hands-on and varied role, working closely with the Finance Director and wider management team. You'll lead a finance team while overseeing financial reporting, stock control, costing, budgeting and day-to-day financial operations.

This is a busy manufacturing environment with a significant stock portfolio, so strong attention to detail, organisation and the ability to maintain accurate financial controls are essential.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Fully qualified CIMA or ACCA accountant.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally with knowledge of standard costing and stock valuation.
  • Experience managing a finance team and overseeing day-to-day finance operations.
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and report financial information.
  • Good understanding of management accounts, budgeting, financial controls and reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for local management and Group.
  • Manage stock costing, inventory valuation, production variances and physical stocktakes.
  • Lead budgeting, standard costing and overhead absorption activities.
  • Oversee payroll across the UK & Ireland, alongside VAT returns and associated reporting.
  • Manage the purchase ledger, supplier payments, expenses and credit control functions.
  • Coordinate year-end external audits, internal audits and corporation tax requirements.
  • Maintain effective financial controls and processes across the business.
  • Support an ERP implementation project and provide financial input into wider business activities.
  • Prepare governance reports and contribute to Group-level Board reporting.

JOB DETAILS

  • Financial Controller position based in Malvern.
  • Salary of £55,000 to £70,000, depending on experience.
  • Bonus potential of up to 10%.
  • Pension, health cover, life assurance and death-in-service benefits.
  • Occasional UK and international travel.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking for a broad, hands-on Financial Controller role within an established manufacturing operation.

You'll have the opportunity to influence financial processes, support operational performance and play an important role within both the local management team and wider Group.

The business is looking for someone who can make an immediate impact, so candidates available to start at short notice are particularly encouraged to apply.

If you're an experienced Financial Controller looking for your next challenge in Malvern, we'd be keen to hear from you.
