Reporting to the Fire Technician, you will support The Garrisons by liaising with teams and contractors regarding fire-related works, ensuring compliance and contributing to the safe management of the estate.

Your Role:
-
You will be ensuring compliance with quality, health, safety and environmental policies and safe working practices across the estate.

You will be interpreting fire strategies and technical drawings to assess fire doors, fire stopping, dampers and compartments.

You will be liaising with The Garrisons teams and contractors to monitor and report on fire-related works and maintenance quality.

You will be inspecting fire doors beyond economic repair, recommending repair or replacement and recording findings with photographs and funding requirements.

You will be supporting reporting, audits and evidence packs relating to fire safety compliance and inspections.

You will be carrying out additional duties as reasonably required by the Fire and Special Projects Manager.
What We’re Looking For:
-
Qualifications: You will have a reasonable standard of English and Maths (GCSE grade 4/C or equivalent), the ability to complete written reports, audits and evidence packs, and hold a full UK driving licence.

Experience: You will have fire management awareness within a facilities management environment, experience interpreting technical drawings and reports, and familiarity with working in a Ministry of Defence or military environment.

Skills: You will demonstrate strong communication, organisational and IT skills including competent use of Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to work effectively with others while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
Experience & Knowledge:

Fire management awareness within a facilities management environment, the ability to interpret building technical drawings and reports, competent use of Microsoft Office applications, and experience working within a Ministry of Defence or military environment.
Desirable:

A B&CE trade related qualification.

Competent use of company management information systems such as IFS.

Membership of an appropriate professional institution.

A valid CSCS card.
