Fire Safety Manager

I'm working on a Fire Safety Manager post with an NHS Trust, within the Fire Team in the Development and Compliance function of the trust's in-house estates and facilities arm.
Contract Details:
- Band: 8a
- Contract: 6 Months Interim, full-time
- Location: London
The role
You'll act as a site lead expert for fire safety, making sure the trust meets its legal and statutory obligations across a complex, multi-site organisation, and providing expert professional advice on current fire safety legislation and the RRO.
Core areas of responsibility include:
- Ensuring fire safety compliance under current codes of practice across all sites
- Monitoring and evaluating the fire alarm and detection testing regime
- Supporting the Fire Safety Manager and Authorised Engineer on capital projects, making sure new and upgraded fire systems comply before tender and installation
- Ensuring fire risk assessments are in place on project closure, signed off against building regs and the RRO
- Providing expert fire safety advice to senior management and clinical teams
What I'm looking for
- Strong fire safety experience within a large or complex organisation, ideally NHS or healthcare
- Competence conducting and signing off fire risk assessments on higher-risk premises (Tier 3 FRA registration a strong plus)
- Sound knowledge of the RRO 2005 and NHS fire guidance (Firecode, HTM 05 series)
- Registration with a recognised fire professional body (IFPO, IFSM, or NAHFO)
- A relevant fire safety qualification and evidence of ongoing CPD
