About the Role
The purpose of a Fire Service Engineer is to be responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance, reactive fault finding, and remedial works across a range of life safety systems. Every day will be different, giving you the opportunity to work independently, solve technical challenges, and provide an exceptional service to our customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive callouts, and remedial works
- Servicing fire alarm, emergency lighting, AOV, and associated life safety systems
- Diagnosing and resolving system faults efficiently to maximise first-time fix rates
- Advising customers on the outcome of service visits and recommending any remedial works required
- Completing service reports and certification accurately in line with company procedures
- Identifying non-conformances and reporting recommendations to the Service Desk for quotation
- Responding to emergency callouts within agreed service level agreements
- Managing van stock to ensure you have the equipment needed to complete jobs efficiently
- Supporting junior engineers and working collaboratively with the wider engineering team
- Attending technical and manufacturer training to continually develop your skills
- Acting as a professional ambassador for the business, delivering excellent customer service on every visit
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience servicing fire alarm and life safety systems
- Experience carrying out planned maintenance, reactive fault finding, and remedial works
- A good understanding of BS 5839 and current fire safety legislation
- Knowledge of emergency lighting, AOV systems, and associated life safety equipment
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
- The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
- A proactive approach with high attention to detail
- A full UK driving licence
